A long long time ago, when I was but a young and curious boy, I drooled in wonder at how they made 3d animated films and video games. This was something that I too wanted to do too! Seven years later, I'm still trucking and spending copious amounts of free time creating things in 3d. Some people are addicted to drugs, and other destructive things, but I am very much addicted to 3d animation, and I don't think I'll be quitting anytime soon. I model almost everything in Silo, which is the greatest, most efficient modeler I've ever seen, so simple, yet so powerful. My 3d package of choice is Blender 3d, because I'm a big fan of open source software, and Blender has grown up quite a bit over the last few years, and is a complete, professional, powerful, and free tool. I also know how to use the big, almighty, Maya, which I don't like using because it has an ugly interface, and is pretty buggy for a very expensive piece of software, and I only have access to it on the school computers. I also know how to use zbrush, but don't use it very much, since silo and blender have great sculpting tools. 3d animation is my number one passion, and I plan on going as far as possible with it!

Ninja Robot

This is a robot that I am currently working on for a personal sci-fi project that I plan on working on for a few years. There will also be more robots in my film, as well as vehicles, and large environments. The story is still pretty rough, and I will share the plot at a later date. I am just about finished modeling him, and will be rigging and texturing him soon.

Cartoon Cthuhlu

Remember those creepy, evil, squid creatures, with bodies from H.P. Lovecraft? Well this is a less evil, cartoony, drunk Cthuhlu. I modeled him in under two hours, and then spent the next 30 hours or so rigging him up in maya so that I could do a short animation to turn in for a 3d animation class. You can check out the animation on my film page. I'm finished on this project for now, but I may come back to him and do some texturing, make him all slimey, and make a funny short film with him.

Full Female

This is a full bodied, female character that I modeled. I rigged her, but didn't spend too much time on it, so there is some horrible deformation.

Insectoid Monster

I started modeling a creepy six-legged insect monster based around some drawings I've done. I never finished modeling him because I got uninspired when I saw a bunch of other 6 legged men that were similar to my design, which I wanted to be very original. I am thinking of using his head as a character in my sci-fi project, but he might be hooked up to some robotic suit that keeps him alive or something of the sort.

Novation X-Station

I had to model a hi-poly object for a 3d animation class, and I thought my X-Station keyboard was really cool, so I took a few reference images and modeled it! I used Silos 3d uv tools to cut up the object and unwrap it in 3d. For the textures, I took a section of the grey texture from a photo, and made cloned it the image, and then added in all the text manually, as I couldn't get a decent enough photo to use for the texture. I'm thinking of doing a render of the keyboard in the not so distant future.

Coffeeshop

I had to create an environment for a 3d storyboard, I decided on a coffeeshop.

3d Storyboard

The idea here was to storyboard a film in 3d. The plot was that a girl would leave a coffee shop, and a giant stiletto would come down from the sky, crushing a nearby car. She turns around, and it is a giant version of herself, who is out to destroy her.

Paper Flowers

I was contracted by a good friend to make a bouquet of flowers made from paper plates. So I set up shop with a pair of scissors, a stack of paper plates, scotch tape, sharpies, and a whole lot of Daft Punk, and spent a full two days constructing these. This unfortunately is not the full bouquet, as I ended up giving a few flowers to my mother, and some friends. The film turned out great!

Roboswitzel

For my 2d animated short Roboswitzel 4037, I did most the animation by rotoscoping, drawing over frame after frame of video footage, to get animated characters in a notebook. Since I didn't have any evil t.v. robots laying around the house to film, I quickly created and rigged one in blender that I used to draw the robot.

Heads

Here are some miscellaneous heads I've modeled.
